Mårten Sandblom is a Master Mariner with a broad experience in the transport &, logistics, risk management and shipping industry. Mårten possesses a B.Sc., in economics (business and marketing). Mårten has throughout his professional career been involved in the maritime sector. Starting his professional sailing career in 1986, Mårten did spend 13 active years at sea and sailed as a deck officer up- to and including Chief Officer. Mårten has a 6-year experience as a super cargo at a shipping company with several project manager roles. Today Mårten is a Marine Loss Control Manager at the American Insurance Company AIG. Mårten’s responsible area is Northern Europe and the CIS countries including Russia. Mårten has enjoyed the multi-cultural environment at the truly global insurance company AIG, for 15 years by now.

Mårten is a marathon runner and he has performed 8 full marathons, the most awesome marathon is the New York City marathon, which is a must for every marathon runner. In the summer Mårten enjoy spending his time in the archipelago with his boat. Every summer’s tradition is also a 3-generation sailing together with his father and his 2 loved sons Frans and Edvin.
