Nina Hanevold-Sandvik is Vice President, Casualty and Major Claims at Assuranceforeningen Skuld (Gjensidig).
Nina specialises in casualty handling, maritime law and marine insurance and is a Norwegian qualified lawyer. She is part of Skuld’s specialised Casualty and Major Claims team which supports Skuld’s business units (P&I and H&M) world-wide in their handling of casualties and large claims. Nina is also a member of Skuld’s Sustainability Committee and has a particular interest in further improving ESG considerations in casualty handling.
Prior to joining Skuld Nina worked 12 years in a law firm where she specialised in shipboard investigations, wreck removals, pollution, limitation of liability and related litigation.
She has an LL.M in Internationa Legal Studies from New York University, a Master of Laws degree from the University of Oslo and a Bachelor (Honours) in Laws and Politics from the University of Edinburgh. Nina is an external examiner at the Nordic Institute of Maritime Law and is a board member of the Norwegian Maritime Law Association (CMI).
