Kjell Inge Børnes has some 30-years’ experience in marine insurance portfolio management, including senior underwriting positions, extensive reinsurance buying know-how and enterprise risk management leadership. 

He has also been a board member of Marine Benefits, a global leader in the maritime industry when it comes to medical insurance for seafarers and their relatives. This subsidiary of Norwegian Hull club was initiated by Kjell Inge in 2007, and he was its first managing director during its start-up period. 

In addition to his formal education with the Royal Norwegian Navy and Bergen Maritime University, Kjell Inge holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the Norwegian School of Economics.
